Mansfield Music Reviews
“When my daughter wanted to learn guitar, we knew we would need a patient, caring instructor. She was a little stage-shy, but at all of Ernie’s recitals the students have the option of playing a duet with him and that’s what my daughter always elected to do. The twice-yearly recitals were fun, rather than nerve-wracking — which they otherwise would have been. My daughter felt she had a lot of moral support from Ernie; he was never critical or impatient. He was very flexible in letting her choose the music that appealed to her when she became a teenager, and that kept her engaged. I highly recommend Ernie for anyone interested in a meaningful music lesson experience for their child.”

“As a child I took 3 years of piano lessons then guitar, ukulele and singing in church and school choirs. Two years singing at Glide Church was a wonderful experience! But something was missing. I could not play piano. Last year, I was lucky to find Ernie. He can PLAY and TEACH music. Not every musician can do BOTH. I am 60 years old and I have enjoyed learning with Ernie, and I highly recommend him!”

“We highly recommend Ernie Mansfield for piano lessons. Our 10 year old daughter has been taking lessons for several years and she thoroughly enjoys herself. I’ve overhead them singing together loudly and playing the piano. It’s very sweet. Ernie is low key and low stress, but our daughter is learning how to read music and play the piano. He’s kind, loving, and patient — very good with kids. He doesn’t push them, but lets them learn at their own pace. The students also perform at recitals. This is entirely voluntary, and teaches them preparation and discipline. In fact, our child loves her lessons so much that her grandma has started guitar lessons!”

“My son took keyboard lessons from Ernie and he loved the experience. Ernie excels at teaching. He shares a lot of knowledge so his students get a better understanding of the experience. Most of all, Ernie makes sure that it’s fun.”

“For affordable piano lessons I would recommend Ernie Mansfield. He is an experienced musician, and knowledgeable on many instruments (incl. flute, sax, clarinet, piano, and guitar) which gives learning music from him a bit more flavor. He has spent over 30 years as a professional musician and he will work with both children and adults so you could take lessons with your kids!!! I have been to his performances and to his group teaching sessions and would highly recommend him to anyone who is interested in private music instruction.”

“I strongly recommend Ernie Mansfield of Mansfield Music! He is an amazing musician and an even better teacher. He teaches many musical instruments, but I know he is a great clarinet teacher! He is great with kids and great with adults. Being a parent himself, I know he understands the importance of doing something just for us! Check him out! — Good Luck! —”

“Kids are more successful in school, in life, when they take music lessons as children. Ernie Mansfield of Mansfield Music in Berkeley and a member of the Parents Network not only teaches and performs music, he inspires children with his passion for music. He specializes in piano, flute, saxophone, clarinet, and guitar — and he turns kids on to music. I haven’t used his services myself, but I know others who are currently part of his musical realm; their grandchildren and children are loving their participation with his classes. You can email Ernie at Ernie@Mansfieldmusic.com You’ll be glad you did.”
